Tim has a 1 year old hand fed female Congo African grey for $1000. However, she just plucked her feathers. You can call him at 225-223-1900 to discuss if you are interested. He lives in Baton Rouge. Those birds are very hard to find. I have a pair of Timneh greys that had three babies last year. If I have some more I will let you know. There is a guy in Eunice that has a pair Congo grey sitting on 2 eggs. If they are fertile they should hatch within 2 weeks. If they hatch I can let you know. I believe he want $1,500 each after he hand feeds them.
I think I actually been in contact with the guy that has the two eggs. His name is Kevin Johnson. He said he hand feeds them and everything. I also have someone in New Orleans that has a pair for $1000 but they want to meet me so hopefully it’s not a human trafficking operation, funny not funny. Lol. I will be a first time African grey owner so I don’t know if I’m ready to take on one that has plucked her feathers out. I’ve read a lot of books and done a lot of research but really not sure if I’d be ready to tackle that. If the ones in New Orleans end up a scam, I think I might wait patiently for the ones that will be hatching. Gives me more time to research. Thanks for responding! I’ve been searching for awhile but had little luck. I come across scams more than anything!
The New Orleans African greys was also definitely a scam. Lol I’m keeping my fingers crossed for Kevin Johnson or maybe the Lafayette bird show In April. Just gives me more time to research and prepare.
Ok, I will keep a look out for you. I own a male Timneh Grey that had been plucking his feathers for the last 10 years and I can handle him much easier than the female that is fully feather. Sometimes I think they pluck because they just want your attention.
